TEETH WHITENING FAQS

HOW DOES A TEETH WHITENING SESSION WORK?

A FDA Approved gel that will set on your teeth with a led light that helps activate the whitening gel, for a total of 60 minutes or if you choose a maximum whitening session, a total of 80 minutes.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 60 MINUTE AND 80 MINUTE SESSION?

A 60 minute session is the average time it takes to lift up to 4 to 6 shades, an 80 minute session is 20 minutes longer than the average session and helps remove more stains. 80 minute sessions are recommended if you have daily habits such as smoking, drinking coffee, drinking red wine or dark colored sodas and juices, eating candy or chocolates.

WHAT IF I HAVE SENSITIVE TEETH?

Using Sensodyne toothpaste for two weeks prior to your whitening appointment will prepare your teeth for any sensitivity during your whitening session.
Also you can add our “Sensitive Treatment” package to your session for only $20, which includes a mineralization treatment, mineralization toothpaste to take home and a soft bristle toothbrush

AFTERCARE? AND WHY?

During a whitening session your pores on your teeth are opened and become more vulnerable to grab stains while open.

Whtie Diet: Anything that would stain a white T- Shirt you should stay away from.

A “White Diet” is recommended for the first 48 hours after your whitening appointment to

ensure that your pores are all the way closed before touching dark stains, this is to ensure you can have your whitest smile after your whitening session.

Must use white toothpaste for the first 48 hours, NOT Blue/ Green or Charcoal toothpaste.

HOW LONG DOES THE WHITENING LAST?

The average person comes in for another whitening session around the 4-6 month mark after their appointment.

During a whitening session only previous set stains on the enamel of your teeth are being removed, such as built up smoke, coffee, and dark colored stains from foods and drinks. A white paint is not being put on your teeth, therefore “How long your teeth will look white” is different for every person. An example is someone who drinks iced coffee everyday and smokes, will probably want to come in sooner because they will start to see their teeth looking not as white after a few months, compared to someone who only drinks water and doesn't smoke who will probably not see a difference as soon and feels as if they can wait to come in.

MY SMILE LOOKS BRIGHT BUT I WANT IT A LITTLE WHITER, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If you feel like you want your smile a few shades brighter after your whitening session, don't worry! You can come back in as little as 4 weeks for a touch up session! This touch up session is only 40 Minutes and helps lift a few more shades before you have to wait a few months to come in again!
Or we also have “Whitening Wiz Take Home Kits” that include a led light and three pens to keep your smile bright in between salon sessions. “Touch Up Pens” are available for $20 as well!
